The Gradual Reopening of Schools in Uganda
On September 20th, the President of Uganda lifted another phase of COVID-19 restrictions. Entebbe International airport and land borders are now open, and some schools will reopen for candidate classes on October 15th.
How Children are Coping During COVID-19
Schools remain closed with no signs that they will open this year. Some of the children on the Road to Hope (RTH) program, particularly the older ones, are taking this time to engage in other productive activities.

Schools remain closed and there is no indication yet when they will open this year. An estimated 15 million children are currently staying home – including the 56 children on our Road to Hope (RTH) program.
