Since the start of our partnership, we recognized the necessity of ensuring more health care workers are equipped with palliative care knowledge and skills. Working toward PCAU’s objective to integrate palliative care services in every district of Uganda, the partnership supports a variety of palliative care training opportunities. Equally important is the continued mentorship, support supervision and development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for palliative care providers across the country.

Palliative care training includes:

• Advanced Diploma in Palliative Care Nursing (ADPCN) and short courses in palliative care to train health care workers in palliative care.
• Update meetings to share knowledge and network with peers. These include: quarterly national meetings, annual general membership meeting and periodic PCAU branch meetings.
